We are gearing up for Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October and encourage organizations to download their free training resources now. This year’s initiative highlights the importance of empowering individuals and organizations to better protect their part of cyberspace in an increasingly connected world.

CLARKSVILLE, Md., Sept. 14, 2020 — Global Learning Systems announced its commitment to Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held annually in October, by signing on as a Champion with the National Cyber Security Alliance and joining the effort to promote the awareness of online safety and privacy with a free resource kit. As a Champion, GLS has crafted free activities for organizations to implement change in employee behavior throughout October. The Champions Program is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals committed to this year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme of “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” The program aims to empower individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace.

Global Learning Systems believes in contributing to the success of Cybersecurity Awareness Month as it is now more important than ever to employ cybersecurity techniques and additional training as many organizations continue to work remotely. With unsecured remote workplaces creating the perfect environment for potential security breaches, GLS provides interactive resources that can make a real difference at an organizational level. These materials include:

  • A handy tip sheet that highlights key actions employees can take to stay secure at home
  • A 90-second, high-impact video that highlights the role of every employee as a first line of defense in protecting your networks and sensitive data while working from home
  • An eye-catching digital poster for use on digital displays or as screensavers on how to secure your remote workplace

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is designed to engage and educate public- and private-sector partners through events and initiatives to raise awareness about cybersecurity, increasing the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident. In its 17th year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum and impact with the goal of providing everyone with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online. GLS is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative, which is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“Cybersecurity is important to the success of all businesses and organizations. NCSA is proud to have such a strong and active community helping to encourage proactive behavior and prioritize cybersecurity in their organizations,” said Kelvin Coleman, Executive Director, NCSA.
