Lynchburg, VA – Instructional Coordinator
Responsible for the planning and administration of Virtual Classroom/Webinar sessions and instructional design of associated materials, as well as performs other instructional design and quality assurance tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Coordinates with subject matter experts for scheduling and materials production.
- Communicates with participants/attendees as needed to answer technical and registration-related questions.
- Assures the technical integrity of course content, as it applies to both customer and delivery objectives.
- Acts as the moderator for Virtual Classroom and Webinar sessions, fielding any technical questions and assisting the SME with organizing subject-related questions.
- Performs instructional design duties following the GLS Instructonal Systems Design (ISD) process, under the supervision of a Senior Instructional Designer and/or the Manager of Instructional Design.
- Reviews source content,
- Creates content outlines (learning objectives & teaching points),
- Authors storyboards & scripts,
- Reviews Alpha/Beta/Gamma programs, and
- Collaborates with other IDs, programmers, graphic designers and other technical team members as required.
- Reviews and edits deliverables for quality assurance including documents, storyboards, scripts and online learning programs.
Skills/Education
- Demonstrated experience with the design of instructional materials (Storyboards, Video/Audio Scripts, Teaching Presentations, Workbooks, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as a presenter and reviewer.
- Polished skills as a presenter and reviewer. Ability to speak to a range of audiences, including clients, other instructional designers, project team members, and subject matter experts.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with standard software (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new applications as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design (preferred) or equivalent field.
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) participating in instructional projects. eLearning experience preferred.

Description/Requirements
- 3+ years experience working as an Adobe Flex, Adobe Flash, Adobe AIR or Microsoft ASP.NET developer;
- Experience developing interactive, Rich Internet Applications (RIA), web-based applications and as larger standalone entities (e.g., marketing, elearning, etc.);
- Strong graphic design sensibility that supports usability, complex design implementations and the creation of visually compelling applications;
- Ability to clearly articulate the opportunities and constraints associated with a given project during requirements gathering and the conceptual phases of design/development;
- Ability to address the key issues associated with deploying rich applications on the Web;
- Fluency with ActionScript 2.0+, Flex, XML, JavaScript and VB.NET preferred;
- Experience using Databases, such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL;
- Ability to integrate video & audio content within a Flash and/or Flex enviroment;
- Ability to bridge other technologies together (e.g. Flex + .NET, Flash + XML);
- Experience working with educational/eLearning programs and standards is a plus.

- Demonstrated multiple project coordination skills;
- Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and consulting skills;
- Communicates with high level management level clients during development and implementation of parts of a solution;
- Ability to work as a team member and willingness to motivate and mentor others;
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
